For more than 70 years, Aldon Management, a third-generation, family-owned real estate company and subsidiary of Brown Development, has been devoted to providing affordable, quality apartment living in downtown Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Washington, DC. As these aging buildings approach the end of their useful life, Brown is beginning to prepare for the future.

With the introduction of these all-new residential properties in downtown Bethesda, along with considerable improvements to the streetscape and open spaces, we believe this redevelopment will fashion Battery Lane into one of the most beautiful and livable residential urban-edge neighborhoods in Bethesda. Now, Brown Develop wants to share its vision with the public.
Brown’s ownership of these six apartment building sites, totaling 11.3 acres, encompass significant frontage along Battery Lane, placing it in a unique position to positively impact the future of a whole neighborhood. The project has been comprehensively designed to implement the Bethesda Downtown Sector Plan goals and Design Guidelines. The design envisions expanding upon the existing neighborhood assets to create a strong identity for Battery Lane District, enhancing access and connectivity, and contributing to the overall quality of life for a vibrant, safe and healthy community.
